Karen Sullivan

I have been at Carnegie since 2000, and I love our school! I teach general music for students from kindergarten through fifth grade. I have a Bachelor's degree in music education, with a major in piano and voice from the University of Tulsa.

I am a certified Orff Schulwerk instructor (levels 1,2,3) and continue training in the Orff process. Orff Schulwerk is a unique approach to music education based on the teachings of Carl Orff. This child-centered approach uses speech, movement, singing and improvisation in a creative, playful atmosphere where students experience the elements of music in an interactive way.
