 Welcome to 2nd grade!  This is my tenth year to teach at Carnegie.  I have high expectations for my students and experience has shown that a quiet, well-ordered learning environment is critical for success.  I strive to create a balance between whole group instruction, small group learning experiences, independent practice, one-on-one instruction, and partner work.  Each day, your child will have opportunities to participate in all of these.  There will be several occasions to volunteer in the classroom throughout the year.  We need parents to supervise the children during our fall field trip to the Will Rogers Museum and birthplace in Claremore.  Our spring visit to the Oklahoma Aquarium is another exciting event that requires chaperones.  In December, we will need parents to help with our unit on "Holidays Around the World."  During the second semester, you will be invited to share your career with the students.   We always need volunteers to read with children.
