City of Tulsa water stations
As a result of this week’s winter storm and the resulting water main breaks throughout the city, the City of Tulsa is offering water stations for those who are in need of potable water. Water stations are located at the River Spirit Expo and ALL Tulsa Fire Stations. Please find additional details below:

  • Citizens must bring their own containers for water.
  • Masks are required at both the Expo and the fire stations.
  • Hours of operation:
    • River Spirit Expo location: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. To access the expo, enter from the south main lobby at Gate 2. Parking will be available near the Tulsa Golden Driller.
    • Tulsa Fire Station locations: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re at a fire station, please be patient, as many firefighters are working on high levels of calls for service.

Student return to in-person learning

On Tuesday evening, the board of education approved a staggered schedule for students to return to in-person learning:

  • Tier 3 and Tier 4 students with special needs; elementary students in grades 4, 5, and 6; middle school students in grade 6; junior high school students in grade 7; and high school students in grade 9 will return to in-person learning on Tuesday, Feb. 23; and

Choosing between in-person and distance learning

Parents will continue to have the option to choose which learning mode their children use. To change your child’s learning mode for next week, please let us know by 11:59pm today, Friday, Feb. 19.

  • If you want to keep your child in distance learning, log onto SmartChoice at enroll.tulsaschools.org and use the “Semester Two Commitment” form to select the distance learning mode.
  • Please be sure to use the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the “welcome” screen to choose the 2020-2021 school year.
  • If you have already completed this form and want to keep your child’s selected learning mode in semester 2, you do not need to complete it again.

There will be additional opportunities to change your child’s learning mode, and we will share those dates next week. If you need to make a shift after Feb. 19, please contact your child’s school.
