Cathy Connel has been selected as the 2022-2023 Carnegie Elementary Support Employee of the Year!
"I have a deep love of learning and wanted to pass that along to our future game changers, innovators, and leaders," said Cathy.
Cathy joined Tulsa Public Schools nine years ago after retiring from her first career. She wanted to give back to her community and has been doing just that at Carnegie.
"I’m a one-on-one paraprofessional for an adventurous, creative, and funny 3rd grader," said Cathy. "My favorite part of the job is at the end of the day when I hear them say 'best day, ever!'”
One of her nominators said: "Ms. Cathy Connell has a reputation at Carnegie as a dedicated support for children and a friend to their families. She treats all of her kids with affection, attention, and love. She goes above and beyond her job to help teach life skills and to make every day fun and exciting for her kids."
