Vineela Katta is the 2025-2026 Carnegie Elementary Support Professional of the Year!

Vineela joined Team Tulsa in 2013 as a substitute teacher before becoming a paraprofessional at Key. She has worked as a para at Carnegie since 2017. We asked Vineela a few questions to learn more about her and her time in Tulsa Public Schools.

What led you to a career in education?

From a young age, I was surrounded by educators and saw the meaningful difference they made in children’s lives. This exposure sparked my passion for teaching and motivated me to become a teaching professional.

What is your favorite thing about your work? 

My favorite part of my job is that no two days are ever the same. Watching a student grow from saying “I can’t” to confidently saying “I can” is incredibly rewarding.

I support and guide my students throughout their learning journey, working hard to challenge them and bring out the best version of themselves. My ultimate goal is to help each student discover their passion or strength and support them as they grow.

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of teaching?

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and gardening.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I want every student to understand the value of education and the opportunities it can provide. One thing I want people to know about my school is that every individual is valued and respected, no matter who they are. I hope our students remember their time at Carnegie Elementary as some of their best years, because we lift our kids up and help them rise every single day.
